Weekly TIP: Installing a Tankless Water Heater (Part Two)
When installing a tankless water heater, it?s important to consider how long the water will take to travel from your gas tankless water heater to the faucet. How far away from the shower do you want to install the water heater?
As a rule of thumb, closer is always better. If you install far enough away, you may need to include a recirculating system to make sure the water can get from heater to faucet quickly and easily. Another consideration comes when installing a gas tankless water heater outside. Be sure to use insulated pipes and consider using a recessed box to prevent the water pipes from being directly exposed to outside air. You should also consider installing heating cable on your pipes to keep the pipes from freezing in the worst parts of winter.
