For the past 12 years, Allyson Ramiller has been battling brain cancer. Loved ones and friends came out to Longbranch Saloon in Mt. Morris Sunday to help raise money for her medical expenses.
Allyson was diagnosed with cancer when she was 10 years old. Now at the age of 22, she is making strides everyday.
A family friend, Cheryl Perez said, "she's got a beautiful attitude. She's strong. She's a fighter."
When her family thought it couldn't get worse, it did.
"She got diagnosed with this tumor and it was like oh my gosh not more and it's just one thing. She had pneumonia last week," added Perez.
At the benefit dinner Perez said, "you buy a certain amount of tickets and you just put them in little brown paper bags and you could win. We're going to have raffle tickets for the gift baskets."
Allyson is a huge fan of the Michigan Warriors Hockey team and they came out to support the special cause.
"We're just trying to get as many guys here today. I know some don't live around here, so it's a little hard for them, but we just want to get as many supporters as we can," said Derek O'Flynn.
The next step for Allyson is radiation treatment.
While she is away from home, Perez wants her to know, "I just love you sweet pea. I just love her to death."
The money raised will take care of some medical bills and add a wheelchair ramp at her home.
